Job Description
Velocity Metalworks currently has an opening for a career-minded Welder with Tig & Mig experience.
Candidates that show capabilities from similar experience or background may be considered. Must enjoy a fast-paced environment AND take pride in your work.
This position is responsible for tig and mig welding of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel parts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols).
- Inspect welds for accuracy.
- Prepare product to be welded by grinding and cutting steel/aluminum parts.
- Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying, and moving of all finished products to the proper location.
- Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner
- Monitor equipment and request maintenance or perform simple maintenance when required.
- Lifts work piece manually, by forklift, or by lift bench, positions and secures for welding.
- Measures dimensions of work piece, using tape, gauge, template, or rule and square, for conformance to specifications.
Qualifications
- At least 1 years’ experience with the use of Tig and Mig welders.
- Ability to set-up and run machinery without supervision.
- Forklift license considered an asset however we will provide training to the right candidate.
- Ability to check and measure parts to ensure accuracy and precision.
- (Standard tape measure and calipers).
- Ability to lift up-to 50lbs
Additional Information
- Full time hours with potential overtime, paid after 40 hours
- Monday – Thursday with some overtime available on Friday (based on company needs)
