CNC Machine Operator
Velocity Metalworks is a growing manufacturing company looking for a strong team member to join our family-like atmosphere. We offer a flexible work schedule, 401k match, paid holidays, PTO/Vacation, and insurance benefits. This is a 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday position at our Belleville, IL location. Overtime is readily available. The ideal candidate would possess strong attention to detail, desire to be a part of a team, and a willingness to learn new tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reads blueprint or work order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions such as fixtures, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determines sequence of operations
- Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder
- Rework metal to create the blueprint design
- Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up the machinery
- Requires ability to read precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
- Perform quality checks on all parts
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment
- Complete routine maintenance of their machinery
- Enter all relevant codes to specify the feed, speed, and cut of any toolpath for a CNC
- Collaborate with experienced machinists and other team members to ensure smooth production processes and timely project completion
Reports to: Director of Operations
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Required
- 2 year Degree preferred
- Programming knowledge preferred (Mastercam) but not required
- Manufacturing experience a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Excellent Attention to Detail
- Willingness to learn new tasks
Pay Range: $26-32
